"Just Give Me A Reason" (feat Nate Ruess)

Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them

Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah but this is happenin')

You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Oh, tear ducts and rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust
But our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring a drink
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, oh, that we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

With just a little reason, a reason to hold on, a reason to not let go, a reason to not forget, a reason that you will be with that person that you loved, a relationship can be fixed.
Sometimes it just takes that little reason, a little reason to hold on.

Life is fragile?

In my opinion, life is not actually fragile.
I mean, life can be taken really easily and a friend, a parent, a child, a grandparent, an acquaintance or a lover can be gone just like that but it does not really mean that life is fragile, is it?

My Mum, always said to me "Do you think it is so easy to die?" If you think of that statement, sometimes it is not that easy to die when you are healthy unless you want to die or have accidently done something that could lead to your death like gaming for 3 days maybe?  hmmm...

Some people may die in their sleep and maybe it is just their time to die, if there is such a thing... or they could have been murdered by someone or even themselves...
There are so many factors to how a life can be gone in a second.  I can imagine that this very second that you are reading this, there is someone dying or has passed away already.

Sometimes, it could be depression that take a person's life cause well, they do not enjoy being alive they think life is a misery and that if they died life would go on and nobody would care.  They are quite right at the first part at least but to say that nobody would care would be wrong.  Almost always, there would be someone who cares, sometimes even if they do not know you.  And if a person takes their own life, they will miss out on all the awesome people they might meet in future and the not awesome ones that would make them a better person.

Of course, there is always 2 sides to a coin and it is to in life.  Life can be all rainbows and sunshine and it can also be dark and gloomy and sometimes lonely too.  It really depends on how you see it.  If you wish it to be rainbows and sunshine and it somehow happens to be dark and gloomy and lonely, it is actually quite sad but if you manage to pass through that, whether on your own or with some help from some people you might find the rainbows and sunshine in that dark, gloomy, lonely path you are in.

I would say life is precious but not fragile as they say, what does not kill you would only make you stronger.  And life is precious cause it can be gone faster than when life was form.  But if a person's life is fragile, I would say then there would be a lot of dead people, mostly children cause life is fragile and children fall down, a lot... and fall sick a lot... and so on so forth...

Life is precious cause it is not easy for one to be able to live to a hundred for example, not back in long time ago when medicine was not as available as it is now but that is not what I mean... I mean, life is precious cause there are sooo many ways one can die before their time, like really young and all... but if one can live past it somehow... then you end up coming out of the experience stronger, alive and wiser or, cynical, negative, and bad.  You see... there is 2 sides to everything...

In conclusion, life is very precious,  why?  Cause not all life forms make it to whichever stage they are in life easily and for them to die, no matter how they died is sad.  And I care about most lives that are gone and for that I hope they Rest In Peace as their footsteps on Earth would not be forgotten by people who knew them.

Thank You for Living and Thank You for Being Part of Someone's life.

Les Miserables Review

Les Miserables is one musical that is pretty dear to me, as it was my very first musical that I participated in.  If I'm not mistaken, there was another movie on it before and I did not find it really that great, but when I saw that at the end of 2012, there was going to be a Les Miserables movie with Anne Hathaway in it, I was ecstatic.  I kind of love Anne Hathaway, cause she so pretty... lol... I just like her movies in general and her looks aren't part of it.  You believe me, don't you...

For those who do not know what the movie is about, I'll try to summarise it for you.  This movie is set before the French Revolution towards it where people are suffering and life is tough and then the younger folks are trying to have a change.  Anne Hathaway is the supporting actress, playing the part Fantine a factory worker being fired and she has a daughter.  Hugh Jackman is the main actor, playing the part of Jean Valjean, a prisoner who was released from prison who escaped parole and went missing for 8 years and was found again and went missing and so on.  Russel Crowe played the part of the Javert who is a very rigid man who thinks he is right and everyone in prison is bad and even if they served their sentence, they are still bad.  Amanda Seyfried plays the part of Cossette, Fantine's grown up daughter under the care of Jean Valjean after her mother passed on.  Besides that, there is also Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the part of Madame Thenardier, one of the caretaker of Cossette while her mum was working in town I think.

Last Wednesday, I went to UniMovies for the movie with my friends as it is more fun to watch a movie with my friends, right...  I actually downloaded the movie already but have not had the time to sit down and finish it.  In general, the musical was pretty awesome in my opinion, Anne Hathaway did a very good job as Fantine.  She was very emotional and of course, everyone else did a splendid job as well.  Javert really did not have to die like that I mean seriously, it just made the movie a little gory.  Anyway, you need to watch it to understand what I mean, though it is 2 hours and 38 minutes of singing, if you pretend they were talking, it would not be so bad I think. I liked the movie and my favorite song would be On My Own.  I really like that song because I kind of feel it for whatever reason there may be, I feel a connection to it.

The video is by Lea Salonga a Filipino Soprano singer playing the part of Eponine, daughter of Monsieur Thenardier and Madame Thenardier.  She was in love with Marius, who was in love with Cosette.  Poor gal...  The song is about how she is on her own and in love and wishes he was there with her but he is not.  :(

Anyway, please give this movie a go if you do not mind musicals as it is a good movie nonetheless.

Comic Fiesta 2012

To people who know me much, they would know I have not went back to Malaysia for a few years prior to end of 2012.  So, on my first trip back after a couple of years, I had to meet up with me other-half-of-the-brain, Tania Wee, blogger of Happy Days Ahead.  She invited me to CF, not Christian Fellowship but something cooler, Comic Fiesta. ^_^

I have been to one before with her as well, before I came to Australia and this time the event was much bigger than what I remembered it to be in Sunway Pyramid.  This time, it was held in KLCC, I went to Day 2 of the event and the people there were, let's just say the place was pretty crowded.  Luckily, Tania had already got me the tickets so it wasn't too bad.  She was covering the event as well for her blog.  So, I went about taking pictures with my new Olympus E-PL5 (my baby).  So, enjoy the pictures. :)

Upon entering the Convention Centre, I saw Dan Khoo, the Love Guru.  I was so excited and was pretty much hyperventilating to Tania.  I was also too shy to ask for a picture with him.  Sigh...  Nonetheless, I stalked him a little and took some pictures of him for my collection. ^_^ (Creepy stalker)  He was there covering the event for his YouTube channel if I am not mistaken.  He was interviewing people and Tania got interviewed too and she also got a picture with him.  (super jealous...)  I shall include the video of the event at the end of this post.

As can be seen, there were lots of cosplaying done by fans or otaku as most of them would call themselves. Above there are One Piece cosplayers, drawings by fans of the event in anticipation of the countdown to the event and a pretty showgirl for the game Tanks, I think... hmmm...

Not only were there humans being anime characters, there was also dolls, well being dolls.  Pretty, aren't they.  I would not mind staring at them all day if I had a set of this at home, but then I would need to have lots of time, and do not have any necessities.  Anyway, moving on...

Shugo Chara cosplayers... I liked that anime.  It is a little childish anime maybe.  But I am pretty childish and the anime is cool as the main character, Amu Hinamori has like 4 guardian characters which comes in the eggs the gals above are holding.  And the gals above are cosplaying Amu when she has combined with one of her guardian characters.  The anime is also very pretty which is also one of the reason I watched it. ^_^

To those who have seen the movie Rise of the Guardians, you would know who the above cosplayers are cosplaying as.  And to those who do not know, please watch the movie as it is awesome, and they are cosplaying as Jack Frost.  Imagine having Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy all in one movie.  It is pretty good for a combo of all of them and my favorite is Sandman.  He is cool...

Me and me other-half-of-the-brain... Together, we make one full brain. :p  She is pretty cool and outgoing and almost everything I am not... In other words, she is awesome. :D  And you should check out her blog, Happy Days Ahead, yes you... I'm looking at you... reading this post... so... do me a favor and check out her blog. ^_^

Fairy Tail, where do I start on how awesome the anime is.  It is the kind of anime where I will cry cause it is sooo touching and it isn't cause someone is dying or love or anything of that sort.  It is touching cause it shows a community of people or wizards or some sort of humans in a guild, a community and you have to watch it to understand it as I do not write well and I can't describe how awesome it is.

I do not know who they are until that day, they are Bless4.  Their songs are actually quite nice, even though it was on loop that day and songs on loop can make people bored of it.  I did not get bored of it, so it is a good song.  Below is the picture of the people who liked them and that is pretty much quite a lot of people.

Below are what I got from Comic Fiesta 2012, some DOTA 2 badges, 2 hats, a Fairy Tail Keychain and a Katekyo Hitman Reborn ring.  I would say that this trip to CF2012 was great, cause I got to see Dan Khoo in flesh and blood, catch up with my other-half-of-the-brain and I got nice stuff.  ^_^  Would love to go again, given the chance and people who have not been to one before and live in Malaysia, should definitely go for it this year as in 2013.

As promised, the video that Dan Khoo made for Comic Fiesta, covering the event.  You all should definitely go for the event this year.

Silver Linings Playbook Review

Silver Linings Playbook is a 21st century American romantic comedy-drama film adapted from a novel by Matthew Quick.  It is based on a man, Pat Solitano played by Bradley Cooper who has bipolar disorder.  He has lost his house, his job, and his wife, and is living back with his parents, played by Jacki Weaver and Robert DeNiro, after being released from a psychiatric hospital.  Pat is determined to rebuild his life, try to find the silver lining, remaining positive and trying to reconcile with his wife.  He meets Tiffany, played by Jennifer Lawrence, a recently-widowed sex addict who makes a deal with him.  They both became closer, forming a bond.

The movie is pretty successful receiving 8 Academy Award nominations, achieving 4 Golden Glove Award nominations, with Lawrence tripping on her way up to collect her award after winning Best Actress; 3 BAFTA nominations, with David Russell winning for Best Adapted Screenplay; 4 Screen Actors Guild nominations, winning in 4 categories including Best Film and Best Actress.

Let's see what did I like about this film.  I was told that it was awesome by my good friend, Mik so I had to check it out.  My Mum also told me to check it out since they won some awards as evidently stated above, they won a lot of awards.

So, let's start, for a romantic comedy fan that I am, I find this movie average.  I mean it isn't bad, just average.  I did not feel the movie much.  I liked the Christmas touch to it during the dance competition and when I saw DeNiro, the first thing that came to my mind was Meet the Fockers.  This movie had a very strong cast and it is a wonderful film with its peculiar romance and where almost every character in the movie has a twist to them.  For example, DeNiro had OCD and other characters had their quirks.

In general, I would recommend this movie for viewing cause it is a good movie with a great cast.

The only way to beat my crazy was by doing something even crazier - Pat

Anna Karenina Review

Anna Karenina is a theatrical romantic drama film based on a 1877 novel by Leo Tolstoy.  It is set in the  late 19th Century, Imperial Russia where the aristocratic Anna Karenina travels from Saint Petersburg to Moscow to save her brothers' marriage.  Anna Karenina has a son with her husband, a Russian Statesman.  On her journey to Moscow, she meets the cavalry officer Count Vronsky and they had some sort of attraction to one another.  This man was supposed to propose to Kitty, who is the younger sister of her sister-in-law.  Kitty invites Anna Karenina to stay for the ball after she has resolved her brothers'marriage problem.  However, during the ball, Anna Karenina and Count Vronsky danced, igniting the spark that was there.  The story explores the feelings that Anna Karenina had which questions her happiness and marriage.

Anna Karenina is directed by Joe Wright who is also the director of Pride & Prejudice (2005) and Atonement (2007).  Keira Knightley plays Anna Karenina, making it her third collaboration with Wright, while Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as Anna Karenina's husband and Count Vronsky, respectively.

This 2012 British theatrical romantic drama film has earned 4 nominations at the 85th Academy Awards and 6 nominations at the 66th British Academy Film Awards, winning Jacqueline Durran both prizes for Best Costume Design.  Besides that, Anna Karenina also got 6 nominations at the 17th Satellite Awards including a Best Actress for Knightley and Best Adapted Screenplay for Tom Stoppard.  Anna Karenina has earned a worldwide gross of approximately $56 million.

Based on all that info above, I watched this award winning movie and I thought it was great.  I would say it is very theatrical as randomly you will see that they are on stage, like they are performing in a theater but it's not a theater but a movie.  The movie was very artsy as I would call it.  I have not read the book before and did not know what the story was about.  Overall, I was very impressed with it and look forward to reading the book one day.

There was also violence to it, where jumping onto train tracks happened a few times and a horse falling and breaking his back, writhing in agony which then leads to Vronsky shooting the horse, killing it.  Most probably not a movie for children as I believe they would not understand it or be undisturbed by the violence.  Anna Karenina was a just a woman who believed in her love and because she decided to have her affair and wanted a divorce, she had to live with the consequences.

I loved the costumes and the ballroom dancing which is different from what I know of ballroom dancing.  It was beautiful and artsy.  Would love to learn that dance and the costumes were beautiful.  Made me wish I was born in that generation just for the clothes.  In general, the movie was beautifully choreographed with people being at the right place at the right moment and the dancing was all very synchronized.

In conclusion, even though some might think this adaptation of Anna Karenina is not a total success, it is definitely a breath of fresh air to romantic drama movies and Knightley did a pretty good job playing Anna Karenina in my opinion.  I would definitely watch this movie again.

Life Story

Walking down a path,
Met a few people,
Some stayed and walked with me
While some left

Eventually, they split paths
Continued walking
Found someone who wanna walk with me
Walk with them

Live with them
Can't live without them
And then you reach a bridge
Only one could walk on this bridge

Prevailed and help each other
One in front and one at the back
There were a few stumbles
Nearly fell off the bridge

Fell off the bridge
But you pulled me up
Continued walking
Then you disappear into the mist

I fell I'm holding on
Waiting for you to come back for me
I'm slowly losing grip
One hand down, another finger losing grip

All the memories of our short path together rewinds in my head
I want you to come and pull me up and continue this journey with me
But you are no where to be seen
There is someone at the bottom

He is calling me
Asking me to let go and that he will catch me
And he will continue this path with me
But I'm not ready to let go

I am still waiting for you
Should I continue waiting?
Have you lost your way?
Am I the only one waiting?

Or are you making your way back to me
Are you struggling to find me as I am struggling to continue to hold on?
Or should I let go and fall into the arms of another
What should I do?
